Overview

Nestled in the heart of Philadelphia’s vibrant 607 S 2nd St district, Roxanne stands as a beacon of culinary artistry and innovation. This restaurant masterfully blends the familiar with the unexpected, creating dishes that invite diners into a playful yet sophisticated exploration of flavors.

The menu at Roxanne is a testament to refined creativity. Highlights such as the delicate panna cotta and the elegantly layered caviar sliders set the tone for an inventive dining experience. Their approach is both whimsical and precise, evident in dishes like the pheasant terrine with seeded bread and duck breast paired with mountain huckleberries and morels. Each plate is thoughtfully composed, striking a balance between boldness and subtlety.

Roxanne also shines in its reimagining of classics. Favorites such as the charred salmon and peanut butter bucatini push boundaries without sacrificing comfort. The kitchen's skill in harmonizing diverse ingredients—the tang of buttermilk ponzu or the sweetness of Cavaillon melon alongside savory notes—creates a memorable narrative with every bite.

The ambiance complements the culinary craft perfectly. The space is intimate yet inviting, ideal for food enthusiasts seeking a refined yet approachable atmosphere. It strikes a rare harmony where presentation, flavor, and setting converge seamlessly. Rebecca DeMarre encapsulates this sentiment, noting Roxanne’s dishes as “an artistic commentary on classic summer foods,” a viewpoint echoed by many who consider the restaurant worthy of prestigious acclaim.

Targeting discerning diners—whether locals or visitors craving a unique Philly food experience—Roxanne promises not just a meal, but a thoughtfully curated journey. The small but highly skilled team delivers a dining affair that balances innovation with heartfelt tradition, earning high praise from patrons who laud it as one of the city’s culinary gems.

In sum, Roxanne is more than a restaurant; it is a celebration of flavor, detail, and creativity housed within Philadelphia’s rich dining landscape. For those seeking a boldly original yet deeply satisfying experience, Roxanne is unmistakably a destination not to be missed.

Incredible, whimsical food! Had the pleasure of dining at Roxanne on a hot day and it felt like the dishes we ate were an artistic commentary on classic summer foods. The combinations of flavors were fun and surprising. This place deserves a Michelin star. Will definitely be back to try more of their amazing creations!

Hands down, the best restaurant in Philadelphia right now. It takes nothing short of brilliance to pull off a menu like this. The fact that they can pull this off with such a small team is incredible. They deserve a Michelin Star. Maybe two.

Holy moly!!! We love trying new food and combos and this takes the cake, literally. Every bite was an experience with awesome staff and atmosphere to add! Tater tots for dessert yes please! The 4 of us got every item on the ala carte menu, and we were so happy we did!! Wish we had room for the cheeseburger for dessert next time!

I can’t say how much I enjoyed the experience. and the meal was an experience of different food in a lovely atmosphere. The pasta dish was amazing. I love spicy and it was the right level of spicyness.

What an absolutely spectacular experience! The service was warm and friendly and low-key. We felt really taken care of. Then the food started coming out, and we were blown away from the first appetizer all the way through to the end of the meal. We had octopus with onion dip, raw cheesesteak (like an elevated tartare), potato on potato, cod with the tiniest pepperoni ever, persimmon sorbet, and pasta with a Vietnamese style treatment. Everything was so inventive and original. You’re not going to get cooking like this anywhere else maybe in the whole world. A really special experience. I wonder if this is what it would be like to eat at El Bulli.
